Welcome to the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus
Dear friends of St. Jude Thaddeus,
Welcome to the heartwarming online community of the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in the Province of St. Joseph the Worker (Nigeria and Ghana). It’s a privilege to spread the devotion to St. Jude, our patron of difficult cases, and share stories of his powerful intercession with you.
St. Jude Thaddeus is a beacon of hope and faith, known worldwide for interceding with God on our behalf, especially when our cause seems hopeless. Through our Solemn Novena of Masses, we join hands and hearts in prayer, joining with Dominicans in Nigeria and other countries around the world to preach and teach the Good News to millions of people.
Our St. Jude Shrine, located at St. Dominic’s Parish in Yaba, Lagos, is more than just a physical location – it’s a sacred space where we come together in prayer and remembrance, sharing our journey home. We invite you to join us in prayer every day of the week, especially during our six yearly Solemn Novenas and the Lenten Triduum of Masses.
Please help us spread the word about St. Jude Thaddeus by telling your friends and family, referring them to our website or social media @stjudeyaba, and continuing to share devotion to our Wonder Worker – one of the twelve disciples of Jesus.
In the Catholic Church, the lighting of candles has always been a cherished tradition. Consider having a memorial candle lit at the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus for one full year, as a symbol of your personal intentions. The white candles will burn 24/7 for 365 days, with a small plaque displaying your name, the name of your loved one, or your special intention mounted below your candle. As St. Francis of Assisi once said, “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.”
